Downtown Legal Services (DLS) is both a community legal clinic and a legal education program, operated by the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. CLD stretched their limited budget into a new identity and CMS website that gave them their own voice within the U of T umbrella.
DLS offers free legal services, provided by supervised law students, to qualified low-income individuals. A key objective of the project was to address DLS’s need to connect with the community through awareness, outreach and education.
CLD developed a new identity and visual system for DLS; while still a part of U of T, the new branding gives DLS its own voice, more clearly defining who they are and the multitude of services they offer.
We also replaced their static and outdated website with a CMS that allows authorized staff to regularly update content to reflect current community events and publicize new partnerships and programs. Together with a series of editable, printable templates with which staff can create promotional material in-house, DLS is now equipped to share and deliver their message with a strong, consistent voice.
